Azlee is a study in contrasts, ancient jewelry-making techniques set against the clean geometry of Art Deco architecture, softened by the romance of the natural world. Coins, staircases, and sunbursts recur throughout the collection, each motif reimagined in 18k gold and platinum by master artisans in Los Angeles. Every piece is designed to be layered, stacked, and worn daily, elevated without being precious, and made to last for generations.
Baylee Ann Zwart founded Azlee in 2015, but the story starts years earlier, in Guatemala, where she moved after college to help local artisans bring their work to market. It was there, on the shores of Lake Atitlán, that she learned metalworking from a local metalsmith and fell for the craft, drawing inspiration from the rugged geometry of the landscape and the fluidity of the water around her. After years in fashion, she left to build Azlee from her Santa Monica atelier. An avid surfer and diver, Zwart has woven her love of the ocean into the brand ever since, supporting conservation efforts alongside her design work. Azlee has since been worn by Emma Watson, Rihanna, Bella and Gigi Hadid, and Zoë Kravitz, and featured in Vogue, W, and Harper's Bazaar.
